Roadmap to personal growth

Have you ever had a feeling that you want to grow, you want to become something more but you don’t know what specifically you want nor how to make it happen.

This is your internal potential talking to you and nudging you start a transformation journey. Truth is – nothing in your reality will change unless you change. What you experience right now is a result of your beliefs, thoughts, standards, experiences, programs, choices, attitudes, habits, knowledge, skills, actions and all the other things that build up your personality.

First step is to honestly look at your life and personality – do I like the way I am, do I like the life I have created for myself? If the answer is “yes!”, you probably are already sharing with others how you made it happen for yourself or are quietly living somewhere minding your own business and gracefully maintaining your healthy balance. If it’s a “no!” then the good news is that it is within your zone of control to make that change!

In this blog post I want to share something I recently gained clarity about. It is essentially how to understand when you have reached the point when further development isn’t necessary anymore and the focus shifts from transforming to integrating the new knowledge, experience, beliefs, standards, attitudes, feelings in your daily life and maintaining the alignment and balance.

Focus on body

This is about hearing and feeling your body. Being connected to body. Being able to read “gut feeling”. Nourishing it with healthy food, drinking clean water, removing toxins and stop making choices that poison your body and makes it sick. It is about giving your body enough rest, sleep, sun, fresh air, movement. Its about not forcing your body to do things it feels resistance to do. It is about taking care of your body and respecting it.

Focus on breath

Breath is how you regulate your nervous system. Through breathing practices you can reset your emotional state, relax, energise yourself, release unresolved and stored emotions from your cell memory. Breath is a powerful tool that is available to everyone and breathing techniques are easily available even for free on YouTube or on other channels. The challenge for some is to create a habit to consciously use it.

Focus on voice

Words matter. They represent your thoughts, your inner world, your dreams, your emotions, your attitudes, your standards, your values and boundaries, and so much more. Some people say that words create or destroy realities. Some people say communication is a form of art. Words are very powerful, but what matters more is who is the one saying these words and what are their true intentions. Understanding why you say what you say, what you truly mean, what is behind your words, how you say it, what impact it has, often requires deep self reflection and then healing and transforming to become the person who can naturally inspire, heal and care with their words.

Focus on heart

Did you know that in your heart is tens of thousands of neurons and it is able to make certain decisions on its own? Heart doesn’t function like brain – there are no thoughts or beliefs, but it recognizes patterns, it communicates to brain to trigger emotional responses, and adjusts its activity intelligently. If there is unresolved trauma, stored anger, resentment, grief, fear, your heart knows it and adjusts your emotions accordingly. To protect you. Closed heard is actually heart full of protection mechanisms that were created as you went through painful experiences in your life. To open heart means letting go all of it – both pain and the protection and trust the life again. Living life with open heart means living in trust, love, kindness, gratitude and knowing that you will make the right choices for your self to be safe, in healthy environment and among loving people who have good intentions.

Focus on hands

What memory your hands carry? Are they gentle, are they creative and hard-working, are they generous? What are they taking and what are they giving? Is the touch pleasant and tender or is it harmful and rough or violent? Are you healing and creating or hurting and destroying with your hands? Can you forgive yourself for the harm you have ever caused with your hands and intentionally focus on doing good with them?

Focus on space

What happens when you enter the room? What vibe you have? How magnetic you are? How people feel when you are near them? Do you carry peace, love, light, joy, inspiration, appreciation, do you embody a vision of something beautiful? What kind of a role model you are? What impact do you make?

If you read this far, you probably already have some thought running in your head and perhaps you already feel what you need to focus on to start with to become the version of yourself that your potential is calling for!

Don’t postpone, start today! There must be at least one small step you can take today…
